Terry MarchingThe Color Guard of the Atlanta Chapter is comprised of members who have outfitted themselves with either a Continental Line or militia style uniform (or both).  Several of these members have also obtained muskets modeled from the Revolutionary War which they fire at some events when they are dressed as militia.  Most of our chapter Color Guard activity is centered on presenting and retiring our Colors at chapter meetings.  Some of our members also participate in State Color Guard activities such as grave dedications, historic site celebrations, and parades throughout Georgia and the Southeast.  There are at least 80 events a year usually on weekends from which to choose to participate.  Our chapter also sponsors events at local schools, participates in local parades, and are called upon by other area groups to attend in uniform on occasion.  Those members that present lectures in the community also often wear a Color Guard outfit.  For members of our Chapter, up to $200 in refunds toward the cost of creating or purchasing a uniform are offered by the Chapter and the State Society presently (the state requires participation in at least one state program to qualify).  Please contact us if you are a Chapter member interested in joining the Color Guard or if you are interested in the availability of the Color Guard to participate in your event by clicking here.
